May Review: Mary Miller

Mary Miller is a wonderful woman of God. She came to spend Saturday, May 7, with us. She works as a counselor in the Restoration Ministry. She stresses that it is vitally important for us to be involved in community with each other. This helps us grow and mature and not have to stand alone. Her message was supposed to be on boundaries but Holy Spirit changed that before she began. The Lord wants to give you hope in dreams. All of us have unspoken dreams. God is a God of Hope! Don’t let go of your dreams!
Mary’s dream was to be a teacher of special needs children. She attended catholic school. She shared how she got chosen in high school to work in a public classroom with special needs children. She knew in her heart that is what she wanted to do. In college, she applied to get into a special education program. She was assigned a child for her practicum. She did all the tests and the only thing she found that was diagnosable was the child had a low reading level. She helped her read. She met with the board and the board told her since she didn’t have a child with severe needs they could not evaluate whether she would be a good candidate for their program. The board declined her entrance into her dream. She did everything right, but it was someone else’s choice that affected her dream. She lost vision and drive. Not only that but she lost so much more. When you lose your dreams, you really lose your hope. She came to Pennsylvania and became a kindergarten teacher as well as a director of a daycare. One day she got a prophetic word about her having dreams as a child. God knew those dreams weren’t lost. She wondered to herself, “Why don’t I have dreams?” God started moving in motion what He desired for her. He asked Mary to lay her job down. It took her longer to listen to His command and she got hurt from it all; however, she was obedient. He wanted her to be available.
She met a woman that knew she was meant to lead their group of hurting women. Mary didn’t know what she was getting into, but God knew. It was a group she lead called Women of Faith. Later on, the door opened for her to come on staff at Christ Community as a restoration counselor. She was right where God wanted her teaching His special needs children.
DON’T GIVE UP ON YOUR DREAMS!!! It might not even look like what you thought it was supposed to be!
When the Lord says, “Will you give me your dreams?” Do it!!! Let Him hold onto your dreams and you listen to His Voice on where He wants you to take the next step.
